The human body functions most efficiently when it is in physical balance allowing for control of movement and adequate shock absorption. However, small imbalances in the feet can impede movement control and shock absorption creating significant stress and strain on the feet, knees, hips, pelvis, spine and even the neck and shoulders. They can also contribute to loss of balance, muscular fatigue, poor posture and inhibit core stability.

An effective method to control imbalances within the feet, are what we term postural-control foot orthoses, or as they are more commonly termed - orthotics. These shoe inserts are a blend of hand made and computer based production techniques, which fit neatly inside a normal shoe.

They support the feet aiding in the alignment of the body holding it in a stable functional position. They are an important part of the treatment of many musculoskeletal problems, aches & pains, and are indicated to provide:

1. stable function of the feet and therefore a stable platform for the rest of the body
2. shock absorption
3. reduction of postural load on the spine
4. muscle re-education and core stabilisation

The orthotics we produce are designed for each individual’s needs and requirements. Importantly we understand the relationship of the foot to the rest of the body so use softer compounds than the rigid style of orthotics generally produced.

We utilise the latest biomechanical and functional testing procedures from orthopaedic, physical therapy, chiropractic, podiatry and sports science research to identify your strength and weaknesses. From this we can identify how your feet contribute to pain in other areas of the body and can formulate a treatment plan including orthotics to balance muscle function, increase shock absorption and control of movement.

Currently we have everyday people wearing our orthotics to aid and support their body for a variety of conditions and currently have our orthotics being used by elite level athletes all over the world to aid their sporting performance and minimise injury levels.
